About this Project

As principle contractor, D L Rhodes & Son were excited to be part of the renovation project on Alfreton Road in Canning Circus.

Work completed in November 2019.

2-6 Alfreton Road had remained an unused site for a number of years and had experienced issues with fire damage which resulted in partial demolitions due to its dangerous structures. The result was a derelict site with detracted from the architectural and historic character of Canning Circus.

Demolition of the existing building was carried out and the erection of 35 apartments with commercial floorspace (Use Class A2 and B1) on the ground floor took its place. The now completed building is a good example of the positive contribution a well-thought and carefully considered design can make on such a derelict site.
